They should use case studies to highlight poor conduct such as the takeover of Mandarin Gardens Mgmt Committee, allowing kids to run around in restaurants, asking locals not to cook their native dish in their own country, stealing old man's CPF is wrong, fleecing old lady of her wealth etc.

Note that there are now 1,420 integration porlumpars who will probably campaign for the PAP at the next elections if they have not already done so.

PA to promote integration of new citizens through interactive play

SINGAPORE — The People’s Association (PA) is turning to the arts to promote the integration of new citizens, with the staging of an interactive play in the heartlands from July.

Organised by the PA Integration Council, the play will engage residents in thinking and role-play, and discussions of different courses of action when dealing with integration-related issues in their daily lives.

A preview of the English-language play was held yesterday at the Integration and Naturalisation Champions Seminar at the Grassroots Club, which was attended by more than 400 PA Integration and Naturalisation Champions (INCs) — volunteers appointed to promote integration in the community — and representatives from immigrant and clan associations, Malay/Muslim and Indian organisations.

Said Senior Minister of State (Culture, Community and Youth and Finance) Sim Ann in a speech at the seminar: “Expanding the common space need not be at the expense of diluting the unique richness of the various cultures that make up Singapore.

“It has to based on an appreciation of different perspectives and lifestyles, as well as a general acceptance that getting along requires some amount of give-and-take.”

Other efforts by the PA Integration Council this year include another 50 community service projects by grassroots organisations, and immigrant and clan associations and community groups. The PA also shared that there are about 1,420 INCs now, compared to 640 in 2007 when the INC initiative began.
