WP’s Adjournment Motion on Elected Presidency Balloted Out of 11th September Parliamentary Sitting
For the Parliamentary sitting on 11 Sep, Ms Sylvia Lim had on 28th August filed an adjournment motion "Counting from President Wee Kim Wee or President Ong Teng Cheong for Reserved Presidential Election - Policy Decision or Legal Question".

On 30th August Parliament notified MPs that there were two other adjournment motions filed on 29th August, namely "Community Sentencing and Other Rehabilitative Options" by Mr Murali Pillai (Bukit Batok) and "The Future of National Service" by Mr Vikram Nair (Sembawang). MPs were further advised that the adjournment motions filed would be subject to ballot under Standing Order 2(8)(d).
We wish to inform everyone that at the ballot conducted today, the topic by Mr Murali Pillai was picked. Accordingly, Ms Sylvia Lim would not be able to speak on her adjournment motion on 11th September.

Clearly they don't want to discuss this until after the EP. Note again, the PM has conveniently found 2 Indians to run interference and screw Sylvia.

Don't these Indians know that that the probability of they being picked often to do the dirty work cannot be coincidental.

Here are just four reasons why too much power can be so dangerous.

(1) Too much power makes it easy for impulsive, selfish leaders to pursue their own goals at the expense of the needs and well-being of others.

(2) Those in power protect their position by attacking those they perceive as threats to their position.

(3) Those with too much power are prone to biased judgments because they have little interest in input from followers. Therefore, they act with faulty, limited perspective and often make bad decision.

(4) Those with too much power are resistant to feedback. They gather around them, other senior leaders, who basically agree with and don't challenge them. Even though there may be the appearance of accountability, in actually they have little or no real accountability.
