I've asked a china colleague who have recently converted into singapore sillyzen about whether will he vote for the papee this coming election? He told me no because he do not like the way papee is doing these days. I told him that papee has given him citizenship so it is only rightful that he should vote for them and he told me that "we people from china have harder bones". What he was saying is not wrong either, looking at the past history of china. KMT kicking qing dynasty, KMT got kicked out of china and tian ann men incident.
China people are more vocals and have more guts than locals. Locals are made up of people from south china descendants which are mostly coolies and farmers so they are probably much more easily to be con. But all these new immigrants are from north china where most of them are descendants of those ex govt officials.
