These complicated new water dispensers that Pasir-Punggol Town Council is installing are unnecessary as the older machines worked just fine, says a STOMPer.
Here's what the STOMPer wrote in an email today (July 1):
"Pasir-Punggol Town Council are in the midst of upgrading water dispensing machines at multi-storey carpark washing bays.
"But take a closer look at the new machines:
"The machines are 25 cm in width and 35 cm in length. They protrude from the pillars and pose a threat of injury to motorists and residents.
"They are equipped with cashcard top-up features but what 's the usage rate there like really?
"Each use costs S$0.30. Isn't this a bit too expensive?
"Three cement blocks at each wash bay may trip motorists and residents there.
"There are vacuum machines located on wet floors with soils and m&d everywhere. What's the usage rate of these anyway?
"Is there a need for these complicated new machines since the old ones functioned just fine?"
