SINGAPORE - A Nepalese man from Singapore's Gurhka contingent was reportedly struck by lightning on Monday morning while on a training course in the Western Australian outback, according to Australia's ABC News on Tuesday.

According to the report, Western Australian (WA) police confirmed that a 41-year-old man, believed to be a Nepalese Gurkha, was struck near Lake Argyle, about 480 km south-west of Darwin. WA police said that they received a call at 9am saying that the man, who was camping with others by the lake, was struck while the group was dismantling their tents.

He was airlifted to the Darwin Royal Hospital, where he is reportedly in serious but stable condition.
