There are only two other country that has citizens fed with propaganda longer than Singaporeans....the two countries are N.Korea. and china..
Long duration of constantly filtering and controling information has caused some Sngaporeans to be radicalised in their thinking.
1. Disregard of human rights. The pap promoted this concept that the human rghts is not important. Economic development is more important. Such beliefs drive the belief that even economic rights like right to form union to strengthen the weakest class of workers and to set minimum wages. The suppression of rights. This has led to the worst cases where we see abuse of maids when Singaporeans employ them.. our maid abuse cases far exceeds any other place like Hong Kong where they also hire maids.
2. Culture of silence ...being afraid to speak the truth against pple more powerful...afraid to ask questions. One ang moh who travel to many countries to lecture asked me how come Singaporeans ask the least questions in any country he lecture. I told him Singaporeans very smart know all the answers.... but in actual fact they don't ask questions because the PAP frequently target pple for asking questions... example is Leslie Chew for asking qns about our judiciary and WP for asking abt AIM.
3. Culture of apathy. Pple are conditioned to care for themselves and their own problems... other Singaporeans don't do well they can't care less. The PAP made it a point to fix those who cared and tried to do something for their fellow Singaporeans. People who were fighting for rights of workers for better working conditions were detained pple who spoke up for the old poor villified by the media
4. False meritocracy acceptance of inequality This is done through an overselling of false meritocracy concept that under the PAP system pple deserve what they get. So the pap leaders are paid highest salaries in the world while our cleaners drivers deserve the lowest salaries they get in the developed world... this radicalization has led to Singaporeans being uncaring towards the plight of their fellow Singaporeans .
5. Undemocratic culture. In a democatic system everybody's voice is important. The PAP until today go after those bloggers and cartoonists that do not support them. This has led to dictatorial culture among those in leadership positions even corporate leadership... lower ranking workers done dare to speak up afraid of punitive measures taken against them and the fact that there issue little they can do after unjust acts are committed against them.
6. Culture of greed. Every major policy every scheme is justified on economic terms and nothing else... the basis of compassion is never used. Why can't we do more for the old? No economic benefit to be gained so they don't do it... in fact one minister was so entrenched in his thinking he suggested the economic benefits of moving the old to JB
7. Acceptance of injustice. An inmate diied in jail in custody serving a short jail term for minor offense. NS men died due to negligence. Arrest of comic cartoonist etc etc etc. In any other country these incidents would have drawn a sense of outrage due to the injustice... but in Singapore nothing happens... in Taiwan the death of one N's man led to massive protest but if the same thing happens in Singapore nothing much of a reaction from Singaporeans...because the concept of justice is destroyed
The PAP has destroyed our human values and radicalized Singaporeans plse be aware and think abt it. Young Singaporeans must fight against this nand not allow the wrong values to dominate another generation
