Aside - What skills do the SOF have that the Commando does not? Every SOF is a commando but not vice versa?

Yes. That's to protect themselves from soldiers who may attempt to kill them. Most SAF Officers are likely target of 'friendly' incidents. If you have served NS or served reservists, you would know the reason.
