MALAYSIA - Tired of having lost 13 pairs of underwear within a month, a woman installed a CCTV at her house and eventually saw a man using a broomstick to lift her undies which she left out to dry.
Known only as Madam Kan, the housewife invited several friends over for a gathering on Saturday evening at her home in Bentong, Pahang.
China Press reported that Madam Kan, 23, left her clothes outside as a way to "trap" the thief. Kan and her friends kept vigil throughout the night, keeping an eye on the CCTV.
At about 1am, a man loitered outside the house before picking up a broomstick nearby to lift the underwear. Then he set off on a bicycle.
Kan said they chased the man and with the help of some passers-by, they managed to locate his house.
There were at least 40 pairs of underwear found in the house.
Bentong deputy OCPD Deputy Supt Wan Azharudin Wan Ismail said the man was arrested.
