Six men aged between 19 and 23 have been arrested for rioting at Raffles Boulevard.
The group assaulted a 25-year-old man on March 1 at about 4.29am after a staring incident in a night club.
The injured victim was sent to the Singapore General Hospital for treatment.
Police officers managed to establish the suspects' identities within six hours after extensive enquiries and follow-up investigations.
They then mounted an operation on March 1 and arrested all 6 suspects at Yishun, Jalan Tenteram, Whampoa Drive and Loyang Rise.
The six suspects will be charged in the Subordinate Courts on March 3 for the offence of Rioting under Section 147 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224.
They can be jailed up to seven years and shall also be liable to caning.
Commander of Central Police Division Assistant Commissioner of Police Tan Hung Hooi commended his officers for policing efforts which resulted in the swift arrest of the suspects.
He said: "The police do not tolerate any hooliganism and lawless behaviour. There is no excuse for violence and no leniency for those who disregard the law.
"The police will hunt down perpetrators and ensure that they are dealt with to the fullest extent possible under our laws."
