I think we can all agree that Singapore is a conservative society but in today's day and age, is it a strength or weakness? Lets debate on this. Some symptoms of our conservatism have already surfaced.
(a) reluctant to hire ex offenders
(b) stigma on divorce and single parents
(c) poltical correctness
(d) sexual conservatism
(e) risks averse

Just to name a few.

it can be a strength or a weakness.

when it is a strength, we must embrace it. when it is a weakness we must avoid it.

eg of conservative value as a strength is to strive to keep a marriage going. this one we must embrace and not follow liberal lifestyles and opt for divorce

(f) afraid to vocalise

(g) afraid to make mistakes due to existing punitive culture.

these weaken us.

You can be conservative on some issues but liberal on others.

For example, one can be a fiscal conservative but be liberal on prostitution. :)
