Operations manager fined $500 for airport theft

WHILE waiting for her flight in June 2011, Regina Kek Yong Hua stole a wristlet bag from the Coach boutique in the Terminal 3 departure hall in Changi Airport.
The 55-year-old was fined $500 on Wednesday. Kek - an operations manager with Kim Eng Securities - pleaded guilty to committing theft of the purple bag valued at $155 on June 18.
A district court heard that a staff member noticed the item missing at 11.30pm.
A check of the shop's surveillance video revealed Kek taking it from the display shelf 30 minutes earlier.
Airport police were notified and they found the bag on her as she was about to board her flight.
