Nearly one in four employees in Hong Kong want to quit their jobs in the coming year, a survey has found, prompting calls for employers to come up with better retention measures.
Recruitment firm Randstad polled 7,754 people from September to December last year and found that 24 per cent want to leave their jobs within the coming year.

“As the war for talent continues, all organisations need to look at their full employee value proposition and offer benefits that appeal to every generation of workers,” said Peter Yu, director of Randstad Hong Kong.
“Otherwise, they will find their employees looking to move to companies which offer the benefits that suit their needs.”
Of those who plan to leave, 38 per cent cited low compensation; 28 per cent cited limited career growth opportunities; and 26 per cent said it was because of a lack of recognition from their bosses.
In another part of the survey that looks at which companies Hongkongers want to work for, Cathay Pacific came out on top, with almost seven in 10 Hongkongers picking the airline.
The airline was followed by marine theme park Ocean Park, and electricity company CLP.
