Whenever i see pictures and videos of Old SINGAPURA It saddens me alot when i look at SINGAPURA today, It has totally lost Its Soul, Its Identity. Plus the Island now has become so dry and Sterile that it feels more like a factory then a home, A place where you once felt that you belong is no longer.
Haixxx.

1. Many of these scenes can still be found in parts of Malaysia. Not all the younger Singaporeans can relate to such scenes nor do they care as the Singapore they grew up in was a modern city with air con malls and all albeit not as "world class" as many of today's newer malls.

2. In the opening scene where Ah Cheks were playing the Chinese musical instruments .....quite ironic that we (read PAP) have "attracted" probably 1 million or so new immigrants or transient workers from China but you don't find many of them playing musical instruments and spreading their culture like in the old days. Many are uncouth and farmer types with their rough ways or the obnoxiously rich or nouveau riche ones thinking the world owe China everything and impose their values on the meek Singaporeans.

After 45 years of PAP hard headed policies this once charming island had become a hard and solid piece of rock.

That's what inevitably happens when you run a country as a profit-maximizing corporation, a family enterprise.

I used to drive along the Malaysian East Coast during the late 80s and early 90s to get some feel of the old days.

Whacked On Its Head By A PAP Logo !

The policy have recently changed to "If Singapore is not destroyed, I worry."

So, late JBJ didn't destroyed Singapore after all like what Goh Choke with his own Tongs had said.

Whacked on its head by a PAP logo.

Foreign Talents policy is "More To Come !"

Mike Gorrie is an excellent gentleman. Understands Singapore and Singaporeans much better than the locals do.

miss the old mrt with only singaporean and not crowded.

Yeah, and the bare skeleton of a MRT network, not a clusterfuck of lines as it is now.

Many old/historic places have been tarnished/destroyed by the construction of transportation network.

Look at Rochor and Bukit Timah now. All dug up for the Downtown Line.

Is it really for convenience? Were those places really inaccessible before an MRT Line was built? Or is this another 'asset enhancement' ploy to increase the land value surrounding the station, and inadvertently hiking up rents at the same time?

When he was with Straits Steamship, it was one of the well-run companies in Singapore.

Now, the new ones also break down with the old ones at the same time. So, 8 mil pop will be a hell hole.

Not too long ago, SG is still a nice place. It's just a big prison now.

That SG you knew has gone into the history books. That SG no longer remains.

The only SG now are filled with Tiongs, ABNN, Pinoys and shits from other countries. We're now united fucking singapore, not Republic of Singapore.
