US President Barack Obama has been shown around what is left of one Oklahoma suburb after Monday's deadly tornado.

He offered moral and monetary support in the wake of the monstrous tornado that killed 24 people, including 10 children.

Obama promised that the government will be behind the victims of the tornado "every step of the way".

"I'm just a messenger here," the president said, saying "folks are behind you" across America.

Al Jazeera's Rosalind Jordan reports.
