An investigation officer on the case trawled through CCTV footage from the station and traced the person using his EZ-Link card transaction records.

I have mentioned before they need to catch the person red handed and cannot use purely face as a charge.
In this case, the killing point is the ezlink card. But if is a normal ezlink it will not have any record of your nric home addr etc?
Unless he used a card that is traceable.

Moral of the story is DO NOT use anything that is traceable when you intend to commit a crime.
