0A “derisory” is a unit of currency worth S$5,000 coined by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong’s lawyer, Davinder Singh.

Full-time national servicemen (NSFs) from all walks of life across various units in the Singapore Armed Forces have come out to say that their monthly allowance is “not derisory enough”.
This after Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong’s lawyer, Davinder Singh, coined a new unit of currency when he said $5,000 is derisory.
This caused current NSFs serving in SAF, who receive up to $480 a month as recruits, to say that they do not mind if their allowance could be more derisory.
Kee Zho Peng, a Singaporean Son, said: “To be really baller, we need at least half a derisory. $480 a month is really not derisory enough.”
Teo Teh Gan, another NSF pride and joy, said: “To put things in perspective: It will take me roughly one year just to save $5,000 while in NS.”
“Now, that’s derisory.”

To put it into perspective, one year of NSF recruit pay comes up to $5760 in all totality, without spending a cent on anything else. Even our Prime Minister finds it a derisory amount, yet he has no qualms paying his conscripts this amount.

SINgaporeans are one stupid people...they want sons to continue the family name & gets screwed by a government who treat their sons like slaves & wtf is N.S. in 2014? you have Permanent Residents by the truckloads who does no N.S. & their sons are not bound to...& are free to go anywhere they want...your son? N.S. age, you have to pay a DEPOSIT & your parents can afford..scoot off & pay that deposit.

Furthermore, they have do reservists, which is one of the factor, that made them unemployable, that is why, many jobs go the foreigners. It is SINgaporeans last.

I have lived through the times, before the deluge of foreigners, it was back then a trickle, having to search for employment & faced with the disadvantaged of being a (1) Male (2) Reservists. Male?, for my female peers have already a 5-8 years head start in employment ( no N.S.), Malaysian women & men ( No N.S.) & companies who will tell you straight in the face, "you have to serve reservists"....that narrow the chances of securing a job, unless one can get connection or "membership'..

What did I do...it motivated me to the path of being my own boss & work for myself...

One other thing about NS. The conscription age is 18. N can req for early enlistment at 16. So at 16 can hold rifle and shoot n kill people. But not allowed to work. Kia su kia see and kia the ballot box Pappie attitude. PAP dont like ppl voting.
