NS-portal under maintenance, all reservist training screeches to a halt.
All functions like emart, ippt, e-training, exit permit, medical appointment / history etc (should be same as home team service functions: https://www.ns-portal-ht.sg/mha/web/p/spf/nsmen-home ) all cannot function : means SAF NSmen cannot book IPPT, cannot check medical info, cannot do e-training, cannot get exit permit, cannot check their reservist call ups, cannot submit claims or check NS booklet etc etc but the worst is that they cannot even book IPPT even on the IPPT app that anybody can download (would need singpass to enter test slot booking menu) but it just seems like when NS portal is under maintenance, the entire SAF seems on shut down mode.... very much feels like the entire SAF is in shutdown mode.
BTW, when Singpass is under maintenance, all Singpass related government internet services in Singapore are shut down, including NS portal which needs Singpass to log in...
Last time, when there was no Singpass, there was no such problem and the telephone operator could help make bookings for this or that or update password on the spot, now with Singpass, everything frequently crashes and everything comes to a halt, like wise NS portal which likes to follow the example of Singpass, and have total shutdowns now and then...
Very soon, MRT system will also follow the SAF example of total shutdowns every now and then...
Just like MRT which frequently breaks down, the PAP smart nation push might be in a one step forward, two steps back state of regression.
The IPPT app that anyone can download:
The IPPT app saying that when NS portal is im shutdown mode, reservist cannot book IPPT test slots, and there is no other way to book the slots whilst either NS portal or Singpass is in shutdown mode... I think SAF has gone part time or perhaps the generals feel that where national security is concerned, foreign work permit holders do a much better job.
Unfit NSmen, let down by NS portal and frequent Singpass disruptions and shut downs find the going tough and thus need to ask their friendly foreign talent maids to give a helping hand:
