BANK Negara Malaysia governor Zeti Akhtar Aziz has been named one of the top central bankers in the world for the third consecutive year.
Dr Zeti was one of six central bankers accorded an A grade in The Central Banker Report Card, published by Global Finance magazine, for their work in the past year.
The University of Malaya and University of Pennsylvania alumnus also scored an A grade in 2011 and 2010, making her one of the most highly regarded central bankers in the world.
The daughter of Royal Professor Ungku Aziz Ungku Abdul Hamid, a former vice-chancellor of the University of Malaya and one of Malaysia's leading intellectuals, Dr Zeti came to prominence during the Asian financial crisis of the late 1990s, when she was appointed acting governor of Bank Negara.
