PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has declared war on the “elite minority who have used their power to enrich themselves and their clans”.

Speaking at a dinner for the Malaysian community in Indonesia, he said he would not compromise even if it cost him his job.

“Malaysia must be free from the greed of the elite minority who have used their power to enrich themselves and their clans. I will not compromise at all although it will threaten my position,” he said, Bernama reported.

Anwar also said that Cabinet ministers are expected to present their progress reports and future plans at a retreat next week.

He said the retreat is aimed at getting the ministers’ input after more than a month’s work and presenting matters that could be carried out or improved on.

“After that, we will make an announcement about the KPI (key performance indicator) and the hopes of each minister and ministry,” he said at the question-and-answer session at the dinner.

Anwar said the main focus of his government would be to strengthen a sustainable economy by attracting investment and ensuring social justice.

Mudhatter n his family now knows the hunter has become the hunted. If Anwar wants to go after him...he is dead meat because he has no support. N hated by all. Dr m created a parasitic economy where judpst a handful controls just sbout everything from and sugar, meat imports and durian export monopoly to motorcars.
Ismail sabri, previous PM threatens to cirmcuvent and allow anyone to trade in food items and he was taken out.
It Will be interesting to see if anwar can survive by reforming the economy or continue with dr m policy just to remain PM and be part of the cartel.
