SINGAPORE: Head of the Singapore Civil Service Mr Peter Ong said good governance is an important ingredient in Singapore's development.

He added that tackling corruption with a mix of strong political will, legislation and enforcement was the state's first priority in its initial years.

Mr Ong was speaking at the launch of the book Virtuous Cycles: The Singapore Public Service and National Development.

The book also details challenges facing the Singapore civil service such as the ability to retain talent.

It was commissioned by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) as an outside-look-in at the Singapore public service story over the last 45 years.

UNDP Resident Representative for Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei Mr Kamal Malhotra said the book's target audience is civil servants worldwide, as it aims to draw out lessons that both developing and developed countries can learn from Singapore.

Is he aiming for Prataman's 4 million dollar seat?

This is a super high flier. Anyone had dealings with him before? I did. Found him very ordinary but am aware he is LHL and Lim Siong Guan's blue-eye boy. Once had three promotions in 2 years.

Hmm, not even the rebel scroobal comes close I'd reckon, but how did you get to know him? You mean you did it through winning a tender for a construction project or something?

Nothing to do with construction projetcs. Let's just say I am acquainted with his bro-in-law who's now a US citizen. B-i-l's surnme is Lau - to make it more convincing. My precious ID would be exposed if revealed how I came to know him. Hope that is ok bro.

Thanks for your reply, I understand and of course I wouldn't want to give your identity an unnecessary exposure. How's your days at the two Integrated Resorts by the way? Do you actually go swim and watch the girls on the mezzanine level?

I am the worst type of smelly scum in society. Look at how kelings back stabbed and kill each other. Well you are looking at a living example - me. :p:p:p

My nights are spent at RWS. Once paid up 2k, never visited MBS. Never swam or any other activites at both IRs. Just enter RWS carpark, straight to casino and leave when mission done.

I wonder how many Singaporeans believe in your HEADLINE. There have been many examples of officials jailed for corruption. Are there many more? I do not know.

peter ong used to be in PSA before, right?

I see. So it seems you prefer patronising RWS.

Been to both. Though MBS is nearer home, I prefer the ambience at RWS. More ah bengs and ah lians there. The ah peks and ah ums also more friendly. Made many friends there. Sadly, hardly see them these days. I enjoy observing behavior of punters.

Over at MBS, lots of younger chaps. Quite a number also action alot but $50 bet only. I don't bet big. Mine is almost always $100 and always face-up.

Not too sure on that but PO was with several ministries (MTI, MHA, MINDEF, Tpt) prior to his current post. I think he was with MPA before too. So, maybe PSA makes sense - board of directors? Might have been with Civil Service College as dean too. One bro-in-law in the US while the other is a doctor. He worked under the current PS MINDEF but now the latter LL report to him. Knew he was going places but never expected him to be head Civil Service. Am pretty sure we have more efficient PSs in the service.

Wahlaneh. Legalized corruption is the key to Sinkapore development.

I see, so you are more attuned to the humble classes. You're a man of the people and should run for office haha. I also feel that as a politician he should be exposed to all classes of people in society just so he could understand things much better. Is $50 the minimum bet? Well in any case you're a straightforward gambler.

Some baccarrat tables $25 also boleh. Many tables now have lower minimum bet amount compared to the past. Proves that punters are losing big-time.

Yes, I take things easy. More at ease with the ah bengs and ah lians as easier to tcss. I have no problem mixing with educated people too. Just that they are more likely to be superficial compared to the ah bengs. Also, their experience differs from mine significantly. They ask me why I chiong? How to explain except that men will always be men. Some of them will never understand coz they are holy, holy people.

How come you don't see them anymore?

Lost all their money?

I have witnessed the 3 stages of these gamblers. The first stage involved big bets (above 3k per bet). Slowly but surely the second stage will take place. These gamblers will lower their bet amount to $300 and they don't bother to 'bee pai' anymore. They now prefer 'face up' which is less 'chee kek'. Very soon, the third stage takes over - the gambler MIA.

Sad. Greed kills. Always exercise discipline and leave when you are up. Casinos are 24/7. Never 'fight' with them. Hit and run is the best strategy coz we have limited capital to fight them.
