The police are looking into a matter involving a group of individuals who turned up at the Istana to deliver two letters appealing for clemency for four inmates on death row in Singapore.

The letters were addressed to President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and Prime Minister Lawrence Wong.

In response to Mothership's queries, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) said the incident took place at around 4:10pm on Sep. 13.

The group, known as the Transformative Justice Collective, left after delivering the letters, the police said.

The four inmates in question, Datchinamurthy Kataiah, Saminathan Selvaraju, Lingkesvaran Rajendaren and Jumaat Mohamed Sayed, were sentenced to death between 2015 and 2018 over drug trafficking offences.
