In all other Westminster models, the Speaker is suppose to be non-partisan. Yet in "democratic" Singapore, its never the case.

When they make you the Speaker, they are telling you to shut up. This is the next most jbl position after EP. He is being 'punished' for showing the LKY's racial theories are wrong, i.e., that a largely Chinese constituency can elect a non-Chinese (although he has a Chinese mother and speaks Chinese, etc.)MP.
