Apple’s MacBook Gets Faster Chips, Better Battery Life, Rose-Gold Finish
Computer maker sticks with single USB Type-C port in second-generation model

Apple Inc.’s MacBook is getting a refresh that addresses*two major gripes with the company’s most beautiful laptop: processor speed and battery life.

On Tuesday, Apple introduced its second-generation MacBook, which moves the superslim computer to Intel ’s Skylake processor with beefier integrated graphics. It also incorporates a faster flash storage drive. Apple says the new model will be overall about 20% speedier than last year’s MacBooks. The new platform also means a bump up from nine to 10 hours of Web-browsing battery life, Apple says.

One thing that didn’t change is the MacBook’s lonely, single USB Type-C port, which handles everything from charging the laptop to connecting displays, storage drives and any other accessory you may have.

But hey, at least now you can buy the MacBook in rose gold (aka pink) to match Apple’s rose-gold iPhones, iPads and Watches. The second-gen MacBook will also be sold in last year’s trio of colors: silver, gold and space gray.

While Apple promises the improved MacBook will be snappier at everything from opening files to launching apps, this still isn’t nearly as powerful as a MacBook Pro when it comes to taxing computing tasks like video editing or graphic design.

Pricing remains the same. The new MacBook starts at $1,299 with a 1.2 GHz (up to 2.7 GHz when kicking into Turbo Boost mode) processor. A second option, with a faster 1.3 GHz processor (up to 3.1 GHz in Turbo Boost) will sell for $1,599. Both versions will run on 8GB of RAM.

For people who recently purchased a first-gen MacBook, Apple offers a 30-day price guarantee that should allow them to exchange their laptop for the new model at no added cost.

Froggy, I'm not IT savvy so pls excuse mine here. Does this also apply for MacAir (which I'm eyeing)?
Also depends if Apple SG introduces this new model here (same price etc);)
