It is because there is a bottleneck at the LTA, which inspects and approves all new vehicles sold here.

Awaiting approval are:

PORSCHE PANAMERA e-HYBRID - submitted since November last year.

MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER (January)

CITROEN PICASSO (February)

Said one motor trader: "We understand that an all-new model may take longer to process, but even cars with previously approved engines are now taking two months. It used to take two to three weeks."

The CEO of a major dealership said: "These delays are unacceptable. Who is going to foot the interest charges or the cost of an ageing inventory? Each day we don't sell, we lose."

The Motor Traders Association says the situation is quite bad, with almost all the brands affected.

The name says it all. LTA stands for Long Time to Approve.

They are selfish.LTA need to focus on rescuing the Temasek, SMRT and Delgro from their bus losing business.
