Exactly. In order to be successful, you need to chart your own course. No government is going to make any difference to your journey in life.

Ask Joetys. Whether the red shirts or the yellow shirts are in power makes no difference at all to him. His life goes on according to this own agenda.

In this I'd say everybody is better off looking after themselves. Governments are smart (or shrewd) people who become fat from their "work" like promising how their voter's lives will improve from their support. All they do is go around cutting ribbons on opening ceremonies, shake people's hands, and make a big deal how caring they are when they all they do is smile at babies and old folks, take credit for other people's work, and are quick at pushing blame to others when things go wrong from neglect. For these reasons, I dislike politicians. If someone wants to do good for society, they just go ahead and do it, whether alone or as part of some organization. Those who join political parties have other agenda.

You need politicians to form Govt in every country. Without an effective Govt, the country falls apart, like Nigeria, and ends up in anarchy.

You can say there are good politicians and corrupt politicians; dumb ass politicians and intelligent politicians. The Govt sets the policies for the people to pursue their dreams, and some of them will excel and some will fall.

In sinkie land, you can easily tell who is a good and intelligent politician or a dumb ass politician. While sinkie land had a few corrupt politicians in the past, some current politicians are certainly stupid.

Yes. Unfortunately communities have grown to a point where leadership and running a country is reliant on a group of people. What I am saying is that we shouldn't depend on this group of people to "improve" our lives. They are essentially looking after their own lives. We have to look after our own. Relying on others to look after us is throwing our lives to luck and chance.

A government is merely a reflection of the psyche of the people. Nigeria will never be well governed as long as it is governed by Nigerians.
