In 1992, the NEOGEO AES (Advanced Entertainment System) console was released, an amazing, groundbreaking new home system that literally brought the arcade to the home for the very first time. Now, on the 20th Anniversary of this Retro Gaming Classsic, The Limited Edition NEOGEO X Gold has a worldwide release date of the 6th December 2012.

So to celebrate the system's 20th anniversary, the NEOGEO X Gold System comes pre-loaded with 20 of the most well-known titles from the console's history. But we have also, in a typically NEOGEO way, created a very special Limited Edition product that not only allows you to play your NEOGEO X while on the move, but most importantly allows you to truly re-create the amazing feeling of playing these fabulous games with the NEOGEO X Arcade Stick.
Although the NEOGEO Fighting Games have lived on to be re-created in other formats, from the Megadrive/Genesis, right up to the Playstation3. There were also numerous other titles in other genres, that were just as playable. Perhaps the NEOGEO X is an opportunity for a new generation of gamers to experience these amazing games.

Back in the day, if you could have afforded the equivelant to the NEOGEO X Gold System (And let’s face it, very few could), this system would have set you back a whopping £4,600 in Europe (The AES System was originally £500 and the games £200 each)!!!! No wonder people call NEOGEO the Bugatti brand of gaming!
There is something about Retro Games that appeals and that are enjoyed by everyone. From Atari, to the Sega Megadrive/Genesis and all the Nintendo series of games consoles, playing these classic games is a great way to pass time. Some argue that Retro Games were the best ever made.....

The original Neo Geo home console was released in 1990 in Japan by SNK. It is the only system ever created that would allow a user to play a game at home, get to a level, save the level on a special memory card, then go to the Arcade and carry on playing where you left off. Let me be clear...these kids were COOL. The NEOGEO system was COOL, period. The Arcade to Home system set it apart the competition – there was nothing like it. But there was nothing like the price either. NEOGEO games were not identical to arcade ones, they WERE the Arcade games because the hardware was the same. Of course, all of that that came at a price: At £500 then ( and over £1000 today online). The NEOGEO AES was simply too expensive to be popular. But that didn’t stop everyone from wanting one....
