He was fined $12,500 after he was involved in a fatal road accident in which a cyclist was killed.
Salesman Wong Yew Foo (above), 38, had been drinking shortly before he drove his car and hit Mr Sin San Wah at Jalan Bukit Merah on April 4.
The 67-year-old cyclist suffered multiple injuries and was pronounced dead later that evening.
The Attorney-General's Chambers told The New Paper yesterday that it has reviewed the case and is appealing against the sentence.
Its spokesman added that the Notice of Appeal was filed yesterday.
For committing the negligent act, Wong could have been jailed up to two years and fined.
