CREATIVITY - so, here is another grandmother story about her Singapore became a metropolis from a fishing village, as told by a mother to her son. Have we not heard/seen this many times, as recently as last year? How much more "creative" can we get?
When are we going to move on? For goodness sake, the British left us with excellent infrastructure, good educational systems, and good morals of what is right and what is wrong. Cannot we not find something more inspirational about the challenges facing us and how we can become a "national" since this is a "National Day Parade"? Are we going to be so "national" that only the cadres of the ruling party will be participating in a "national" day parade?
THAT SONG - Goodness, how dumb can we get? Have we no sense of shame, of what is right and what is wrong? And ONE out of FOUR songs is about a Fun Pack which none of the viewers would be able to see/touch/imagine if not for the fiasco? But the cake has to be that the "composer" felt that there was nothing wrong with lifting intellectual stuff like that.
Worse still, he makes light of the situation with comments like "I stand by my work", "I believe it's still fun, it still works" - nothing to say about the key issue which is holding the performance of the song. Zero humility when caught like a deer in the headlights of an oncoming train.
THE COLONEL - He provides the ongoing sad perceptions of what we think of the two toy soldier ministers that we now have. Enough said.
