I can only speak for myself.
#1: Will do anything, whether ethical or not, just to win and stay in power. E.g. they redraw election boundaries as and when they like with impunity, come up with GRC system, use courts to intimidate and prosecute political opponents.
What are they saying when they do all this? You as the people have no say as to how this country is governed. We'll do whatever the hell we like and think is best.
But we're supposed to be a democracy, no? How can a democracy run this way?
#2: Cannot take criticism. Look at how many times they've sincerely apologized for mistakes they've made. I cannot remember one instance. I may have bad memory, but I seriously cannot even remember once where they really sincerely apologized. But very quick to pat themselves on the back publicly and take credit.
#3: Use threats to silence people. Control of the media, the press and use fear to threaten people who speak out. What kind of people are these, that they cannot let people speak their minds? Only want to present one side of the situation - namely their side? Why so afraid of letting people speak out? Can any organization last this way? Can it progress?
#4: Lack leadership. Take credit when things go right, don't take blame when things go wrong. Take huge pay packet, but don't want to assume the same responsibility it demands. Don't lead from the front, but form the rear. Build foreign worker dorms in Serangoon, why don't build in District 9? More central what. Hypocrites, say one thing, expect citizens to do one thing, but don't want to lead from the front. No sacrificial spirit at all. E.g. LHL asked people to donate to charity to help the poor. How much, as a percentage of their pay, do they themselves give to the poor? How much does his dad, his brothes, his wife and mum give? How much does he himself give? How much does his cabinet give? Want people to give, you show by example first. Or else you're just a hypocrite.
#5: Lack moral authority. Start casino, allow all those prostitutes to run wild in Geyland and Duxton, make all national decisions just based on money money and more money, instead of doing what's right. Will you honestly respect someone like that, whose only sole objective in this world is to make more and more money and has no other thing that is important to him?
#6: Very narrow hearted. I honestly can't remember something big-hearted that they did. Very petty, very revengeful, very narrow-hearted. Always want to get even with people, money count till the last cent, prosecute everyone according to law and not according to what's right in the situation. Always looking out for what's in it for me me me and myself.
These are my thoughts on the PAP. They are very effective in some areas and have done very well in others, but I really don't want them to form such a large majority of the government. We need more people like Sylvia, LTK and Chiam in parlaiment, people who are willing to lay their futures on the line for what they believe in, instead of all these easy-life easy-money MPs that we now have that whole day just talk cock sing song play ping pong.
