Michigan-based Shiite Islamic scholar Haider Qazwini said in a March 7, 2026 lecture at the Al Zahra Islamic Center in Charlotte, North Carolina that the United States is not actually run by its president, but by “someone sitting in Tel Aviv” who makes the decisions….
Haider Qazwini: “Today, we are living in the United States. The country is supposedly run by the President, our president. Supposedly… But honestly, we ask ourselves…
“If you just look at the news for two days, you will notice that our president – he is not the one running [the country]. There is someone behind him. Someone is sitting in Tel Aviv. He is running. He has access.
“Everything is up to him. He decides. Every national archive – he has access to. Every classified document is run by him. He picks and he chooses. He makes the decision.
