In an alarming incident in Bahwalngar, a young man, identified as Afan Sohail, allegedly committed fratricide by strangling his 17-year-old sister, Afia Mumtaz, to death.
The Saddar police station reported that the accused, a resident of Basti Shera Lakhan Moza Hafizwala, cited “honour” as the motive for his brutal act, fueled by suspicions about his sister’s alleged inappropriate relations with someone.
After perpetrating the crime, Afan Sohail fled the scene. The police have initiated an investigation, registered a case and conducting raids to apprehend the perpetrator.
The lifeless body of Afia Mumtaz has been transferred to the hospital for a postmortem examination.
