Serious Mumbai police: Zakir Naik has been paying people to convert to Islam

It keeps getting worse for the wildly popular Islamic preacher Zakir Naik. Described as the “third most popular guru in India,” deemed “the rock star of tele-evangelism and a proponent of modern Islam,” and whose Peace Channel boasts 100 million viewers, Zaik’s reputation has been taking a global flogging lately. Now comes word that Naik, also well known for his “gift” of eliciting mass conversions to Islam, has been actually paying people to convert to Islam. Mumbai Police investigators say Naik and his non-profit Islamic Research Foundation have “illegally converted around 800 people to Islam by paying them using funds received from abroad.”

It’s just another strike to add to Zakir Naik’s list of unsavory revelations. Naik landed on the radar of security agencies following reports that the jihadists behind the slaughters in Dhaka were inspired by his sermons. In fact, one of the terrorists quoted Naik on his Facebook Page that “every Muslim should be a terrorist.”

And I wonder who are the ones in Singapore wanting to invite him to speak in mosque?

There is no moderate Muslims. Every Muslim is a potential Islamic terrorist.

I always wondered why dark skinned people and Arabs find Islam so fascinating? In the far east, this religion seems rather primitive and most chinks won't even consider it seriously. The only chinks I know who convert to Islam do so mainly for marriage. But once the marriage ends, they end the charade and revert back to their former selves.

Interesting question. Every religion needs two things before you have followers. Prophet or prophets and a Book ( Divinely inspired scriptures). In the Middle East, Islam filled a vacuum for the Arabs , they saw Jews with their religion and Christians who I guess they considered an offshoot of Jews. The Torah and Bible took centuries to be put together . The Koran appeared overnight with the Prophet. Of course this appealed to his tribe and related tribe . Much of Islam spread through conquest in the Middle East. Arab traders brought Islam to SEA and again , there was a vacuum. Buddhism didn't have a God and Hinduism had an endless number ( God inflation ?). Neither actually told people what to do. Only Islam and Christianity. Only these two are evangelical. I think Islam was probably more a fit culturally.

People have different motivations for converting. Christian preachers been doing that all over the poor countries. Nothing wrong offering them some incentive.

Zakir Naik is allowed to come to sinkieland but he is banned from speaking by the regime.
