MRT lines disrupted on Friday – but no updates from SMRT http://sgfuck.org/mybb/images/smileys_yahoo/angry.gif

August 1, 2015 by Terry Xu in News · 3 Comments

An unknown fault between the Bugis and the Tanah Merah MRT stations caused service delays along the East West Line and certain parts of the North-South Line during the peak hour on Friday.

Transport operator, SMRT, which is in charge of these two lines, did not make any announcement on its social media platforms, neither were free bus services activated for the train disruption.

It is thus puzzling why the SMRT did not provide updates on its social media platforms on Friday, particularly on its Twitter and Facebook account pages.

In 2012, SMRT revised the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to start detrainment to track (if necessary), within 30mins from incident occurrence (45mins previously).

Also, the SCDF would be activated in any train-to-track detrainment.

From postings on social media about Friday’s incident, the delay likely occurred during the period between 6.00pm to 7.30pm.

Here are some postings on social media by commuters about the delay on Friday:

now breakdowns are becoming so common that it has become a norm.

commuters also can't be bothered cos they have a new excuse for being late.

It is no point announcing about daily happenings.
Knowing that commuters are totally pissed off.
And don't tell them about the free bus services.

why do people make a mountain out of a mole hill..

a few minutes delay once in a while is a non-issue..

false alarm. there was hardly any problem. i took the train from bedok to bugis yesterday afternoon and back in the late afternoon, and the system was running as smooth as my bowel movement. whoever is spreading alarm and falsehood can jump on the tracks.

There are no longer disruptions, but rather 'track maintenance' or 'track replacement'.

Get used to it, especially during the days and weeks leading up to the election. ;)

They are hoping that if they keep quiet, those who didn't know will never know, and those who knew would soon forget about it.
