MPs are not Town Council Managers!

After decades of dominating the Singapore Politics, the PAP decided to send its MPs to be managers of Town Councils in the 80s as there were not much debates in Parliament after Barisan Sosialis had walked out of the Singapore Parliament in the 60s. Another reason why the Town Act was enacted is to stumble the Opposition parties should they ever took over a constituency. The trick of holding government subsidies was not new when SDP or Worker's Party won over the constituencies in the 80s to 90s. .

Imagine if Han Hui Hui through a fluke result that she won Radin Mas SMC and how can she run the Town Council herself with limited resources? Can the Tanjong Pagar Town Council be so kind to her to give her all the books and curve out her area of responsibility properly and expeditiously? Can her newly formed town council have the economy of scale when her town council open a tender for rubbish collection for her estates?

IMO, the rightful ownership of managing the Town Councils is the HDB which is under the Ministry of National Development! The responsibilities should go back to the MND and only when PAP lost 2/3 in parliament can this be reversed. Who says policies can't be reversed? When PAP lost 2/3 in parliament, policies CAN BE REVERSED!

You can decide to right this wrong, after all we are a democratic country, Vote for Opposition!

Dun worry Leong Sze Hian will think of a way for HHH to loud hail PAP into coughing up the money!

If after asking nicely doesn't work! HHH got a loud voice in Parliament which would keep any sleepy heads MPs awake!
