Motorcycle theft suspect arrested

SINGAPORE : Police have arrested a 19-year-old youth who is believed to be responsible for several cases of theft of motorcycles in Ang Mo Kio.
The police at Ang Mo Kio Division set up a task force to catch the culprit after several motorcycle thefts were reported.
They had a breakthrough on Tuesday when one of the stolen motorcycles was spotted at a carpark in Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10.
Through follow-up investigations, the officers managed to establish the identity of the suspect who was then arrested at his home in Ang Mo Kio on the same day.
Preliminary investigations indicated that the 19 year old may be involved in at least 4 cases of theft of motorcycles in the area.
The suspect will be charged in court on Thursday. If convicted, he can be jailed up to 7 years and fined.
