SINGAPORE: A heavy downpour on Friday (Dec 11) caused flash floods and a falling tree across various parts of Singapore.

High water levels were reported in the Thomson and Novena areas, while part of Orchard Road was reportedly blocked when a tree fell.

Channel NewsAsia viewer Gary Tse, who was on the way to the hospital, reported heavy downpour in Novena, while TODAY reader Wilson Tiow submitted photos of a flash flood near Thomson Medical Centre.

Video of ankle-deep flash floods at the Balestier-Novena area, filmed from an eatery opposite Thomson Medical Centre by viewer Berlin Ang.

National water agency PUB reported flash floods at Cambridge Road (near Pek Kio CC), at Boon Lay Way / Corporation Road, Thomson Road (near Novena Rise), Mandalay Road / Balestier Road and Boon Keng Road / Bendemeer Road.

The Land Transport Authority also reported an obstacle on Orchard Road (towards Bras Basah Road) after Grange Road.

It's not act blur.....
Ponding already accepted as a norm together with the haze, mrt breakdowns, high cost of living etc. grin and bear it.....70% says no problem
 
Fortunately we didn't have a SARS, MERS, ebola, .... epidemic. Only dengue,
