Forbes has released its rich list for 2022, and Tesla boss Elon Musk has officially surpassed Amazon founder Jeff Bezos as the wealthiest person in the world. Here are some of the other wealthy names featured in the latest rankings.

1. Elon Musk - $219 billion​

Elon Musk has topped the famous Forbes list for the first time. With a net worth of $219 billion, he's beaten Amazon founder Jeff Bezos to become the new number one. The Tesla founder now hopes to colonize other planets via his SpaceX rocket program.

2. Jeff Bezos - $171 billion​

Jeff Bezos has been demoted to second place in the latest edition of the Forbes list. The Amazon founder may be comforted by the fact that he is still worth $171 billion.

3. Bernard Arnault - $158 billion​

Bernard Arnault oversees the Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH) empire, which places him at the head of over 70 fashion and cosmetic brands. This fashion CEO currently resides in Paris, France and takes third place on the latest list.

4. Bill Gates - $129 billion​

Bill Gates is not only the fourth richest man in the world, but one of the most charitable. The Microsoft founder's $129 billion fortune is known to go towards charities such as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which fights universal inequities. Gates had previously dominated the list, topping it in all bar two years between 1995 and 2017.

5. Warren Buffett - $118 billion​

Warren Buffett holds a $118 billion fortune and is one of the world's most successful investors. He has pledged to give away 99 per cent of his wealth to good causes.

6. Larry Page - $111 billion​

Google co-founder Larry Page is worth $111 billion. He and co-founder Sergey Brin invented the PageRank algorithm, which powers the search engine and he served as Google CEO between 1997 and 2001.

KNN till date My uncle has contributed $0 to all the top 5 except Bill Gate as my uncle had bought some windows computer but not anymore now :wink: KNN

7. Sergey Brin - $107 billion​

Following his Google co-founder, Sergey Brin is worth $107 billion. He and Larry Page co-founded Google in 1998 after meeting at Stanford University where they were studying computer science. He and Page remain at Google's parent company Alphabet as board members and employees.

Bill Gate's money is supposed to be all given to charities, how come he is still the 4th richest guy in the world and still go around asking other billionaires to donate to his charity under his control?

Steven Ballmer served as the chief executive officer of Microsoft from 2000 to 2014 after replacing Bill Gates. He now owns the Los Angeles Clippers basketball team.
