It's not because we have not enough good accommodations. How can MOM allow more and more of these foreign workers in our country to work in here when there is only so much space in Singapore to house everyone comfortably? They keep arriving in droves and the infrastructure is not in place to house so many.

The government is lying when they said they are curbing and reducing the intake of foreigners and that is why we are in this dire situation. It can only get worse and not better.

But the best thing is, these people living in these so called "slums" are actually better off than the place they lived in in their own countries.

I guess Mindef should set up a property branch to lease out empty camps to house our foreign guest... Like that win/win situation for all!

They are still better off in their own slum with some decent place to sleep and have more privacy instead of 40 in a room.

I have been in some of the worst places in SE Asia where they shit and bathe in the same waters and their homes made of discarded cardboard boxes. These places were not even fit for dogs to live in.
