Police have arrested a 22-year-old foreign worker believed to be responsible for a series of mobile phone thefts committed in a foreign workers' dormitory along Kranji Road.
From February to mid-March this year, several cases of theft of mobile phones were reported.
Following the reports, officers from Jurong Police Division conducted extensive ground enquiries and follow-up investigations in a bid to apprehend the suspect.
On March 19 at about 4.30pm, the officers arrested the suspect at his workplace located at King's Road.
Preliminary investigations indicate that he is believed to be responsible for at least three cases reported at the said dormitory.
The suspect will be charged in Court on Friday for theft. If convicted, he faces a jail term of up to seven years or be liable to a fine.
