Grace Fu returns from 4-day visit to Sarawak

SINGAPORE - Minister in Prime Minister's Office Grace Fu has completed her four-day visit to Sarawak, Malaysia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) said in a statement today.

Ms Fu, who is also Second Minister for Environment and Water Resources, was in Kuching on Aug 19, where she called on Chief Minister of Sarawak Tan Sri Datuk Amar Haji Adenan bin Haji Satem, Speaker of the Sarawak State Assembly Datuk Amar Haji Mohamad Asfia bin Awang Nassar and Sarawak Minister of Housing and Tourism Datuk Amar Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Abang Haji Openg.

They affirmed the long-standing friendship and growing ties between Singapore and Sarawak, the MFA said.

Ms Fu also met with Sarawak business leaders and exchanged views on the potential for cooperation in tourism, trade and food sourcing opportunities between Singapore and Sarawak.

She toured the Samalaju Industrial Park in Bintulu on Aug 20, where she was briefed on the Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy. She also visited OM Holdings, a joint venture between Singapore and Sarawak businessmen, at the industrial park.

The minster then met and exchanged views with local officials and business leaders at Miri and Mulu during the rest of her trip. She returns to Singapore this evening.

How many times has the fool travelled this year?

Maybe she is so stressed out in her job that LHL asks her to chiat hong?

Why visit a state when it is the Malaysian government that calls the shots?
