McDonald's says free $100 voucher circulating online not genuine

SINGAPORE : McDonald's Singapore said on Friday that a $100 voucher circulating online is not issued by the company and is not genuine.

In a Facebook post on Friday, McDonald's Singapore shared about a link pointing to a site called "mcdonalds.dailygiveaways.me" which called on people to claim a "free $100 McDonalds Voucher" for Christmas and highlighted that there is there is "no such promotion".

The company also reminded its customers to check with its website or official Facebook page to verify if any e-coupons are genuine.

Customers commenting on the company's post suggested that the link was actually pointing to a 'phising' website.

The direct link to the giveaway website has since been removed by the company from its Facebook page, with its advisory to customers still in place.
