MALACCA - A traditional masseur claimed trial at a magistrate's court here to three counts of inciting schoolboys to perform acts of gross indecency.
Basri Hashim, 51, looked calm when the separate charges were read to him in court yesterday.
Based on the statement of facts, the accused allegedly committed the offences between 9am and 9.30am inside a room in a house located at Jalan Sungai Udang, here, on July 23.
He allegedly attempted to sexually arouse three boys by giving them lewd massages and performing oral sex on them.
Two of the boys were 14 years old and the other was 13.
Basri was charged under Section 377E of the Penal Code, which carries a jail term of up to five years or whipping upon conviction.
Earlier, the accused was seen limping into the courtroom and later produced an OKU card issued by the state Welfare Department to certify that he was disabled.
Magistrate Syajartudur Abd Rahman set bail at RM9,000 for all three charges with one surety for each charge and fixed Aug 26 for the case to be re-mentioned.
The Star had reported on Thursday that the boys, who had been playing truant, were held captive for a few hours and given lewd massages as well as made to participate in sexual acts.
They were rescued by police following a tip-off.
