(Penang, 21st) The Penang police cracked down on the prostitution syndicate and revealed that criminals rented several hotel rooms for a long time, looked for customers through WhatsApp, and informed the customers of the hotel room number after the price was negotiated, RM400 to RM1500.

Northeast Police District Chief Sophie Ann, at around 2:00 a.m. this morning, led a team to shut down a hotel in the urban area, arresting 9 women and a man believed to be a watchman on the spot.

According to the police investigation, the prostitution group rented several rooms in the hotel for a long time for its girls to trade.

The arrested woman was between the ages of 21 and 33. Because they are locals, the prostitution fee ranged from RM400 to a maximum of RM1,500 per hour.

During the operation, the police seized 18 condoms and RM6,220 in cash. The police investigated the case under Section 372A (prostitution) and Section 372B (recruitment of prostitution) of the Penal Code.
