Never assume anything is something people will eventually realise and the key is to manage expectation from the word go. As this involves our esteemed President, I am we will keep this mind as it tells you the measure of the man.

Nathan is appointed Chairman of SPH shortly after "illustrious" career in the civil service as head of SID, ISD and then Perm Sec.

SAF decides to invite the man to give a guest presentation to Senior Staff including Foreign Trainees at Command and Staff College. The intention is to share his thoughts on acting as guardian of the media to protect the interest of State. Guess what Nathan did? He gave a presentation on how newpapers are printed at night. Everyone was shocked, devastated, stunned including trainees who are senior command staff from different armies.

And he is our President and looking after our reserves!.

Why the hell would senior ranking staff would be bothered by printing of newspaper at night seem not to have registered with this man.

Pass, collect $200, repeat the same cycle and keep out of jail.

It is a coded message that only intelligence service personnel can understand.

Senility has set in. Time's up, Mother Nature will not be denied.

When did this happen?

This is hilarious as it reminded me of a CO in a unit. A well-renowned expert on defence came to Singapore and visited the unit whose system was designed by the expert. He gave a talk to the CO and all the officers of the unit on the defence system. After introducing the expert, the CO went back to his seat. The 2 hour lecture was half-way through when the expert stopped and ask the floor if they had any questions. There were some questions raised which was answered but before continuing the expert asked the CO if he himself has a question. The CO promptly stood up and went forward to the expert and began thanking him for a fine lecture and prepared to escort him out. The expert was nonplussed as he had not finished but gracefully complied and walked out with the CO without finishing the talk. Everyone was amused as they knew the CO had been sleeping all the while and did not realised he had prematuredly ended it:D:D:D

Good. That's reminds me of Tony Tan after his second stint in govt. Never brief him in the afternoon as he will be nodding off. And he was the person that the briefing was done.

Inderjit thinks that Dr Tan standing for EP wld be awkard because what if the PAP were to nominate another more pro-PAP candidate, at least that's what everyone thinks he was saying.

Now we have an ex-PA Chmn who is now special adviser to PA Chairman who thinks that from the sentiments of the recent GE, the "people" wants to see an EP who is not so close to the PAP.

So which is which? Does the PAP want to see a more pro-PAP man or not? To Inderjit, Dr Tan is not "familee" whereas to Lim Boon Heng, he thinks that people wld consider him too PAP. Looks to me the ex-Minister in charge of Ageing is himself ageing rapidly and becoming senile not remembering that Dr Tan was a rather freaking thorn on the backbench.

They are already quarreling with each other. In the name of the people.
