A 51-year-old man, initially facing the death penalty for murdering a property agent in 2008, pleaded guilty on Monday to a reduced charge of culpable homicide.

Rosli Yassin also pleaded guilty to four charges of cheating, one charge of theft, one charge of criminal breach of trust and one charge of abetting forgery.

Rosli, who was unemployed, went on trial for the murder of Ms Choo Xue Ying for two days in October 2010.

The hearing was then adjourned and his lawyers made representations to the prosecution to reduce the charge.

On Monday, Rosli admitted that he met Ms Choo on Oct 14, 2008, to discuss some business.

Ms Choo, who was driving, stopped her car at Lorong Sesuai to discuss the money that Rosli alleged she owed him.
