Man on graft charge

A MAN was charged on Monday with offering $100 to a woman to make a false traffic accident report so as to make a false insurance claim. Hamzah Karim, 43, then self-employed, allegedly offered the sum to Ms Liyana Mohamed Noor at Simei on Aug 23, 2006. A pre-trial conference will be held on Wednesday. Hamzah's $10,000 bail was extended. If convicted, he faces a fine of up to $100,000 and/or a jail term of up to five years.
