A North Florida man shot two people dead and left two more wounded before turning the gun on himself Saturday, according to news reports around Gainesville.
Police said 72-year-old Hubert Allen, Jr., the step-grandfather of Buffalo Bills running back CJ Spiller, shot the owner of the trucking company where he used to work and a farmhand at the owner’s farm before turning the gun on himself, reported First Coast News of Jacksonville.
NBC News reports that the assailant used a “small bore shotgun” to wound at least one of the victims.
Allen worked for Pritchett trucking for 35 years, First Coast News reporter Kaitlyn Ross said on Twitter. “Sheriff would not say if he left a note or had a motive,” she posted.
Union County Sheriff Jerry Whitehead told Ross it was a “complete shooting rampage,” she posted.
Erica Bennett, a reporter for WTEV in Jacksonville, reported on Twitter that the second fatal shooting victim is 28 year-old Rolando Gonzalez-Delgado. She listed David Griffis, 45, and Lewis Mabrey Jr., as surviving victims, with Griffis listed in critical condition and Mabrey as stable.
