A MAN was jailed for 22 months on Wednesday for two counts of threatening his mother.
This is not the first time Anbualagan Paniandi, 50, has been jailed for criminal intimidation.
A Community Court heard that in 2003, he was sentenced to 10 months' jail for threatening his mother, Madam C. Arashi Payyapathy.
In the latest offence on March 11, 2011, he was drunk when he pointed a metal fork at his 63-year-old mother and threatened to punch her at their Woodlands flat.
The court heard that earlier on Oct 16, 2010, he had pointed a knife at the victim, saying that he would not be alive after killing her and would jump down.
Anbualagan, who pleaded guilty earlier to the two charges, has a string of previous convictions dating back to 1980, from 2008.
He could have been jailed for up to two years for threatening her with the fork, and jailed for up to seven years or more for the threat to cause death.
