SINGAPORE: An unemployed man has been sentenced to 15 months' jail for causing hurt and failing to comply with a work release scheme.
Anthony Edmund, 39, had been drinking outside a convenience store in Woodlands Ave 6 in May this year when he recognised Xu Zhi, 43, who had assaulted his brother a few weeks ago.
During the confrontation, both entered the 7-11 store, and Edmund grabbed a liquor bottle and swung it at Xu's head.
The court was also told that Edmund had failed to report back to Selarang Park Community Supervision Centre in August 2012.
He had previously been convicted of unlawful possession of offensive weapon in 2011, and was placed on a work release scheme.
