Man jailed 8 months for corruption and other offences

A chef was jailed for a total of eight months on Friday for corruption and pushing a volunteer cop.
Ang Kim Hong, 41, was also fined $1,000 and banned from driving for six months for dangerous driving.
Ang, a former property agent, admitted to two counts of corruptly giving a $500 bribe each to two men to take the rap for him and Cheh Bak Hai for running illegal internet gambling cafes in Serangoon in 2006 and 2007.
A district court heard that Ang came to know Cheh, now 63, in 2006 after patronising the latter's illegal Internet gambling cafe in Toa Payoh.
